Belfast Spiritualist Church is soon to implement the use of a forum for all those who register.
The forum will be used as an "add-on" to enhance the site for all its users, enabling communication
between not only church members but those
interested in Spiritualism.
The forum will have various section designanted in order to ease the use of the forum for all.
As the site and forum develop new sections relating to user groups, resources and other aspects will be
implemented.
Suggestions and comments regarding improving the forum for all are, as always, appreciated and can be sent
directly to either the Belfast Spiritualist Church directly or the Forum Admin' & Moderators who will be listed
in the forum itself.
Belfast Spiritualist Church must insist that all read, understand and agree with the terms and policies
listed below before entering / registering with the Forum
All members must register with and use full names in order to allow other
users to know who they are communicating with on the forum.
FORUM TERMS & CONDUCT
1. Do Not Make Personal Attacks
Posts that serve no purpose other than to flame users annihilate the quality of discussion.
Do not make personal attacks.
You may critique or disdain argument and opinion posted by users, but you may not extend that
method to maligning the users themselves or blatantly flaming thier chosen topic.
Do not troll or purposefully attempt to disrupt discussion in threads.
2. No Spamming
Do not post copies of the same thread (full quotes only please), the same thread to multiple subforums, or
copy the same post to multiple
threads unless necessary to carry on a thread or discusion as the context of posts and threads can and sometimes
are mis represented when "bumped" to other threads/posts. Avoid making empty "bump" posts or necroposting
(bumping very old threads).
Please refrain from appending ASCII logos, macros, memes or other taglines (manual signatures)
to each of your posts. Never repost a thread or post that has been deleted or locked by a moderator.
3. No Advertising
Advertising bots, propaganda accounts (including the advertising of personal services and products),
and persons who register with
the intention of using this forum for SEO or link-dropping will be banned without warning.
Ask - you may be given permission when applicable, do not be offended if refused.
We ask that other registered users also refrain from engaging in casual or commercial ad campaigns
upon the forum. Launching plans for other forums or communities and attempts to gain members from this
community for your own, or third parties are forbidden.
4. Do Not Register Duplicate Accounts
Each user is allowed one account. Please note that users who attempt to register multiple accounts
may be placed onto the forum's blacklist automatically, which can have the effect of suspending all
account function/s for each account associated with that user. Purposefully assuming multiple identities
(sockpuppetry) will not be tolerated.
5. Respect User Privacy
Do not post the contents of private messages on the open forum without the permission of
all parties involved. Additionally, we ask that you not reveal personal details about other users
without their permission. This specifically includes acts like the posting of addresses or telephone numbers.
6. Post With Quality In Mind
Although there is nothing wrong with being succinct, terse, or directly to the point,
we ask that you try to avoid one-lined irrelevance. Chitchat and goofing around are welcome,
but try to keep it to the appropriate threads and subforums and don't bombard those users who do not
wish to participate. Do not dump excessively lurid content into existing threads or create threads for
that purpose. Do not post racist or antisemitic material anywhere on this forum.
7. Post Legibly
Please do not make posts in ALL CAPS, custom-format posts in a manner that breaks up the visual
continuity of the thread, or otherwise make posts difficult for users to read.
Post in English (we can not moderate other languages), use paragraphs in extensive posts,
and avoid 'sp33k' or 'chatspeak' (substituting u for you, 2 for too, etc) altogether to avoid confusion.
8. Use Tasteful Customizations
Offensive, disruptive, or poorly formatted usernames, custom text and avatars will be mollified or
removed at the administration's discretion. Custom avatars must be without the use of
transparency or space-filling borders, can be animated, and may contain non offensive text.
9. Enforcement
This Code of Conduct enforces both a "three strikes you're out" policy for repeated violation of
TOS and an immediate banning policy for extreme infractions.
When necessary, posters who have broken forum rules will receive an official
warning from staff via the forums' "private message" feature. After two warnings,
a third infraction will result in immediate termination of the account without further notice.
(It is the responsibility of each forum member to check their PMs on a regular basis.)
Blatant disregard, and/or a serious breach of Terms & Conduct may result in an automatic ban.
Thread and Post details will be saved and assessed with regards to any appeal you may wish to state.
